Cold Front Brings Rain and Cooler Temperatures to Central Kentucky

Cold Front Brings Rain and Cooler Temperatures to Central Kentucky

Lexington, KY – A cold front is currently sweeping across the eastern United States, bringing additional rain to many areas of central Kentucky today. The front is expected to exit the region by early tomorrow morning, allowing for a gradual clearing in northwestern counties by the morning and extending into the southeastern areas throughout the afternoon.

The National Weather Service reports that high pressure will move in behind the front, leading to a dry end to the week. Wednesday is forecasted to cool slightly, with temperatures peaking in the low 70s. As the week progresses, the temperatures are anticipated to rise again, reaching the low 80s by Friday.

However, meteorologists indicate that another cold front is expected to move through on Friday, which will lower temperatures once again, bringing Saturday’s highs back into the 70s. A second cold front is predicted to arrive on Sunday, and it is now projected to bring moisture along with it, creating a chance for rain on both Sunday and Monday.

Following this weekend’s cold front, temperatures are anticipated to drop significantly, with highs in the upper 60s on Monday and low 70s by Tuesday. Residents are encouraged to prepare for fluctuating temperatures and possible rain as the weekend approaches.

Stay informed about the changing weather by checking local forecasts regularly. For those planning events or outdoor activities, it’s advisable to monitor updates to ensure safety and readiness for possible rain and cooler temperatures.
