LEXINGTON, Ky. — In a surprising display of holiday spirit, a Christmas tree has been spotted on Tates Creek Road, bringing joy to the local community even before Halloween has arrived.
The tree, adorned with tinsel, ornaments, Coca-Cola cans, and candy canes, appeared without any prior announcement, sparking curiosity among residents. Social media buzzed with comments as a Facebook post about the decorated tree circulated, with many expressing delight at this unexpected festive decoration.
The festive installation was first noticed by local resident Crystal Bruder, who described her reaction: “Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed bright shiny little lights. It gave me the biggest smile.” She expressed gratitude towards the mysterious decorator, saying, “Thank you for that little bit of joy.”
Luke Perry, another onlooker, remarked on the tree’s surprise appearance in October, noting its cuteness amidst the fall backdrop. “It’s not really the time for it, so it stuck out to me for sure,” he stated, pondering whether this could be a new Lexington tradition.
The tree not only stands out in the daytime but also lights up at night, powered by six solar panels that illuminate the decorations after sunset. Scott Friend, who first discovered the tree, suggested this could be a sign for increased kindness in the community: “Maybe it’s just time everybody is just nice to everybody else.”
As of now, the identity of the decorator remains a mystery. Local officials welcome any tips about the individual or individuals responsible for the holiday surprise. Those with information are encouraged to contact local news outlets to give thanks and recognition for adding a spark of joy during this season.
As conversations continue to swirl around the cheerful tree, residents look forward to enjoying its light and spirit throughout the coming weeks, reminding them that joy often comes from unexpected places.
