Chocomania to Open New Dessert Shop at Fayette Mall in Lexington, Bringing Handmade Chocolates and Unique Treats

Lexington is set to welcome a new dessert destination as Georgetown’s popular chocolate shop, Chocomania, prepares to open its doors at Fayette Mall. The shop, owned by Christine Sawalha and her family, will enhance the local culinary scene with an array of handmade chocolates and desserts.

Chocomania began its journey in 2021 in a small shop before moving to a more spacious location at 117 N. Broadway in Georgetown in 2023. The expansion included a menu featuring custom-baked cakes, along with breakfast and lunch offerings such as crepes, deli sandwiches, and salads. Following persistent customer feedback urging a Lexington location, the Sawalha family decided to respond to the demand.

The new Chocomania site is scheduled to open after the first of the year, targeting a timeline of late January or early February 2024. This opening is expected to coincide with the busy Valentine’s Day season, a prime opportunity for the dessert shop to attract sweethearts looking for unique gifts.

While Chocomania will retain its Georgetown location, the Fayette Mall shop will focus on desserts, featuring a selection of 70 to 80 varieties of handmade chocolates. The new venue will also house a bakery case filled with dessert items and offer a variety of coffee options, catering to both shopping mall patrons and those looking for a sweet treat.

A standout item set to be featured at the new location is the viral sensation known as Dubai Chocolate. This popular treat, which is a pistachio crème covered in chocolate, has garnered significant attention on social media and has become the top seller at the Georgetown shop. Furthermore, Sawalha is excited about introducing a new item, baklava chocolate, which is currently being developed and aims to replicate the success of its predecessor.

As Lexington prepares for the arrival of Chocomania, the local community eagerly anticipates the indulgent options that will soon be available in the vibrant shopping destination.
