Charges Against University of Kentucky Student Alleged Abuser Progress in Court

Louisville, Ky. — 21-year-old Saif Al-Khafaji has been released from jail and is scheduled to appear in court on February 17 regarding serious allegations of sexual abuse involving a University of Kentucky student. The incident is part of a series of accusations against him that originated from his time at Eastern Kentucky University.

In April 2024, Al-Khafaji was accused of harassing and stalking at least 10 female students at Eastern Kentucky University. However, more serious allegations surfaced following an incident on November 10, when a UK student reported that Al-Khafaji attempted to drag her into a parking lot while she was walking home from a bar.

The allegations prompted the campus police to issue a safety advisory, which led to additional victims coming forward. Following these incidents, police discovered that Al-Khafaji was employed at the Louisville airport and subsequently obtained a warrant for his arrest.

After being taken into custody, Al-Khafaji posted a $7,500 bond just days later, allowing for his release. As of now, the specific date for when he will respond to the charges involving the University of Kentucky is still to be determined.
