Lexington, Kentucky – A man has been charged with burglary following a series of thefts from local pharmacies. Timquan Powell, the suspect, is implicated in the theft of prescription drugs from three pharmacies in Fayette County.
The alleged crimes occurred in July 2023, where surveillance footage captured five individuals stealing medications from the businesses. Law enforcement officials report that they later received an alert from an iPhone crash notification originating near the location of the second burglary.
Investigators determined that the iPhone belonged to Powell. Information found on the device provided a connection to the pharmacy thefts, leading to his identification and subsequent charge.
Powell now faces a preliminary hearing scheduled for October 7, where further details of the case may be revealed.
As authorities continue to investigate the series of thefts, they have not disclosed whether the remaining suspects have been identified or apprehended. The case underscores ongoing concerns regarding drug-related crimes in the area.
