Lexington, Ky. — The second annual blood drive organized by Kentucky Sports Radio (KSR) in collaboration with the Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) took place today, drawing fans and supporters to the Fayette Mall location. The event was held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside Kentucky Branded, where attendees had the opportunity to not only support their favorite radio hosts but also contribute to a vital community cause.
Eric Lindsey from the Kentucky Blood Center emphasized the significance of such partnerships, stating, “We hope people will come out before, after, or even during the show to donate blood.” He highlighted that KBC’s mission is to increase awareness about the critical need for blood donations and to facilitate a convenient and efficient donation experience for residents.
The Kentucky Blood Center serves over 70 hospitals across the Commonwealth of Kentucky and requires at least 400 donors each day to meet the ongoing demand for blood and blood products. Lindsey noted that events like the KSR Blood Drive play a crucial role in encouraging community participation and ensuring that local hospitals are adequately supplied.
For those who were unable to attend the blood drive or wish to donate blood at a later date, the Kentucky Blood Center offers additional information on their website regarding upcoming donation opportunities and locations.
With community involvement, events like this not only enhance local engagement but also highlight the importance of blood donation as a lifesaving act. The Kentucky Blood Center remains dedicated to serving the community and fostering partnerships to support this essential need.
