Georgetown, KY – A benefit concert to support the AMEN House is set to take place on Saturday, October 5, at 6 p.m. The event will be held in the courthouse square of downtown Georgetown, with all proceeds directed towards the organization’s programs aimed at ending hunger in Scott County.
AMEN House Executive Director Michele Carlisle expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming concert, stating, “The AMEN House has never done anything like this before, so we’re excited to partner with Mo Bell Music.” This event marks a significant step for AMEN House in their mission to benefit the local community.
Local music artist Mo Bell, who has lived in Georgetown for four years, is spearheading the initiative. He hopes to deepen his community involvement and commented, “I’ve had a guitar since I was 14… I decided that I really wanted to be consistent in playing.” Bell, who has performed extensively across the region, is eager to showcase local talent at the concert.
The lineup for the evening includes several local artists—Jo Turley, Jason Kyle Smith, Jacob Molton, George Molton, and Bell himself. Carlisle noted that “all of the artists performing that night live right here in Georgetown/Scott County. They’re all donating their time.” Each artist will bring their unique sound, ensuring a diverse mix of entertainment throughout the four-hour event.
In addition to music, attendees can enjoy a variety of food trucks, as Carlisle shared, “All of the food trucks participating are donating 10% back to the AMEN House.” This collaboration aims to entice visitors not only with great food but also with a chance to support a worthy cause.
The forecast for the day includes cloudy skies with showers expected in the afternoon, and a high of 71°F, accompanied by winds from the northeast at 10 to 15 mph. Rain is predicted later in the evening with a 100% chance, possibly totaling over one inch. Carlisle and Bell hope for favorable weather to ensure a successful turnout.
Looking forward, both Bell and Carlisle envision the concert becoming a recurring event in the community calendar. Bell stated, “I hope we have a downtown that is full of people wanting to try some of the food vendors… as well as the local shops.” The concert not only aims to provide entertainment but also seeks to strengthen community ties and support local businesses.
