Beloved Lexington Preschool Teacher Mrs. Frances Blackford Passes Away at 62

Lexington, KY – A beloved preschool teacher at William Wells Brown Elementary School, Mrs. Frances Blackford, has died at the age of 62. The news was confirmed in a Facebook post from the school, which stated, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our preschool teacher, Mrs. Frances Blackford. Mrs. Blackford was loved by all. Please keep her family, our W.W.B. family and our preschool team in your thoughts and prayers.”

Mrs. Blackford passed away on November 28, as reported by officials from Bethsaida Baptist Church. Currently, the cause of her death has not been disclosed. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hawkins Taylor Funeral Home in Lexington.

The announcement of her death has prompted an outpouring of support on social media, with over 30 individuals expressing their condolences and sympathies. Many in the community remember her not just as a teacher, but as a cherished member of the school family.

Fayette County Public Schools officials have yet to release an additional statement regarding Mrs. Blackford’s passing.

As the community mourns the loss of a dedicated educator, residents and former students alike reflect on the positive impact she had on their lives and on the importance of supporting her family during this difficult time.
