Lexington, Ky. — Authorities are investigating a concerning incident involving a dog that was allegedly thrown out of a moving vehicle on Sunday evening. The event took place around 201 Newtown Pike, where an eyewitness reported seeing a car drive by and “throw the dog out.”
Paws 4 the Cause, an animal welfare organization, responded to the report and immediately secured the dog using a loop lead, placing her in a fenced area for safety. The organization then contacted Animal Control to address the incident and facilitate any necessary investigations or potential charges.
According to Paws 4 the Cause, the dog was found to be microchipped and registered to an address in Frankfort, Ky.. The organization plans to notify the registered owner regarding the dog’s welfare and the circumstances surrounding her abandonment.
