Lexington, Ky. — An arrest has been made in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving the University of Kentucky police. Authorities have charged 21-year-old Saif Al-Khafaji from Louisville with first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree indecent exposure.
The arrest took place on Saturday evening at the Louisville Airport, following a warrant issued by Fayette County. This action stems from an incident reported by the University of Kentucky Police that occurred on November 10, when a victim was assaulted while walking near Rose Street and Euclid Avenue.
On November 15, UK Police released a crime bulletin outlining the sexual assault report. The investigation was able to link Al-Khafaji to another incident of indecent exposure through the victim’s description. Additionally, security camera footage from the campus helped identify the suspect.
