LEXINGTON, Ky. — A man was arrested on Monday and charged with burglary and several other offenses after an alleged armed robbery in a woman’s apartment.
According to a police citation, 56-year-old Ronald Hill forced entry into an apartment on Red Mile Road while armed with a gun. Once inside, Hill allegedly assaulted the female resident and stole approximately $380 from her purse as he fled the scene.
Witnesses reported hearing an argument and saw Hill leave the apartment on foot. One witness attempted to follow him, at which point Hill allegedly fired a shot in the direction of the witness.
Police later apprehended Hill, who was reportedly trying to hide the firearm used in the crime. During the arrest, officers discovered a bag on Hill that contained items suspected to be a crack pipe along with a small bag of fentanyl.
While in custody, Hill reportedly attempted to dispose of a bag containing suspected crack cocaine.
As a result of these events, Ronald Hill has been charged with multiple offenses, including burglary, assault, disabling or destroying evidence, and possession of a controlled substance.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about crime in the community and the actions local law enforcement is taking to ensure public safety.
