According to State Police, at approximately 7:55 a.m., 50-year-old Gregory Willis and 46-year-old Mark Hatcher were involved in an auto accident on KY 704. In a shocking turn of events following the collision, Willis allegedly shot Hatcher.

The events took a traumatic course as witnesses report that the shooter fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive. Despite the challenging circumstances, law enforcement made the significant arrest at approximately 1:56 p.m. The suspect was located in a wooded area on Paul Frankum Road in Adair County.

Arrest and Charges

State Police stated Willis was taken into custody without any resistance and was charged with first-degree assault in connection with the shooting incident. Victims Hospitalized

In addition to Hatcher, there was a passenger in the vehicle, 23-year-old William Freese, who also sustained injuries during the crash.
