Lexington, KY – This weekend offers a diverse range of events for residents and visitors looking for entertainment and community engagement. From a unique waste disposal initiative to festive concerts, there’s something for everyone from November 29 to December 1.

On November 29, the Redwood Cooperative School will host a post-Thanksgiving Gobble Grease Toss from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free event allows participants to safely dispose of leftover cooking and vegetable oil at 166 Crestwood Drive.

For sports enthusiasts, the excitement continues at Rupp Arena as the UK men’s basketball team faces off against the Georgia State Panthers at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $39. Meanwhile, comedy fans can enjoy performances by comedian Gianmarco Soresi at Comedy Off Broadway, with shows at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m..

Music lovers will be treated to a performance by Magnolia Boulevard at The Burl at 8 p.m., followed by a special Pink Pony Club Chappell Roan Night presented by Club 90’s at Manchester Music Hall starting at 10 p.m. Tickets for this event begin at $30.

On November 30, the Stop, Drop, & Run 5K takes place at Country Boy Brewing, supporting the Scott County Humane Society. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. with a registration fee of $35-$40.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Lexington Farmers Market will be located at Henry A. Tandy Centennial Park, providing a variety of local produce and goods. Additionally, Chenault Vineyards will host its annual holiday barn market featuring local vendors, food, wine, and live music from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sports fans can join the action at Kroger Field as the UK football team battles the Louisville Cardinals in the Governor’s Cup at 12 p.m. The game will be televised on the SEC Network, with tickets starting at $54.

The weekend culminates on December 1 with a holiday-themed brunch at The Kentucky Castle featuring a menu with pastries, frittatas, and more starting at 1:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from $60-$75.

Cultural events include the Lexington Chamber Chorale concert at Second Presbyterian Church at 5 p.m., showcasing Christmas and Hanukkah songs, with tickets priced at $25.

Additionally, the Isaiah J. Thompson Quartet will perform a holiday concert at The Kentucky Theatre, featuring Duke Ellington’s music at 6 p.m., with a pay-what-you-can entry fee.

Finally, the 37th annual Advent Musicale will be held at Ascension Episcopal Church at 6:30 p.m., performed by the UK Orchestra and conducted by Dr. Everett McCorvey.
