Lexington is set to welcome a new dining establishment aimed at reviving the city’s tradition of Southern cuisine. Local restaurant owner Sabrina Booker will be opening Sassy Bleu, a restaurant featuring a mix of Southern comfort food and more upscale dishes, in early November. The restaurant will occupy the historic corner of Woodland and High Streets, a location previously home to the beloved restaurant Ramsey’s.
Booker, who has spent 16 years in the restaurant industry, is also a co-owner of MiMi’s Southern Style Cooking and previously owned MiMi’s Soul-to-Go. She expressed her desire to revive the Southern food tradition in Lexington, stating, “I’m bringing Southern food back to that corner.”
Sassy Bleu will offer a diverse menu that includes classic Southern dishes as well as more refined options like lamb chops. Guests can expect traditional Kentucky favorites such as the Hot Brown, and meals will come with two sides and honey corn bread. The lunch menu will feature a variety of sandwiches, including ribeye salad, buffalo chicken salad, and Philly cheese steak sandwiches.
The restaurant plans to accommodate 76 diners indoors and will feature a patio for outdoor seating. In addition, Sassy Bleu will include a full bar and plans for live music several times each month, along with other events during local game days.
Booker aims to establish Sassy Bleu as a permanent fixture in the Lexington community. The restaurant will offer both carryout service and catering, including dessert options.

As Sassy Bleu prepares for its official launch, the community eagerly anticipates the return of Southern flavors to this historic Lexington corner.
