UPS Truck Pull Raises Funds for Special Olympics of Kentucky in Annual Strength Challenge

Teamwork Truck Challenge

Louisville, Ky. – The annual UPS Truck Pull took place on October 5, 2024, at Brightspring Health Services, gathering teams to compete in a unique strength challenge while raising funds for the Special Olympics of Kentucky.

This exciting event invites teams of 15 participants to try their strength against a massive 18-wheeler. Each team competes to pull the truck at least 12 feet in the fastest time, showcasing their physical prowess and teamwork.

Traditionally held at UPS, the event featured friendly competition across several categories, including men’s, women’s, and co-ed divisions. Special awards were also given for best costume and best team spirit.

Barrett Brewer, a representative from the Kentucky State Police, remarked on the challenge, saying, “It is definitely difficult but comparatively speaking, we pulled the plane at World Port in years past so this is definitely a little bit lighter change of pace.” His comment reflects the spirit of inclusion and adventure that characterizes this event.

The UPS Truck Pull not only tests the limits of human strength but also serves a greater purpose by supporting the athletes of the Special Olympics. The funds raised during the event will directly contribute to providing services and resources for participants across the state of Kentucky.

As the event commenced, local supporters and families gathered to cheer on the participants, creating an atmosphere filled with excitement and community spirit. It was a day dedicated to fostering inclusion, determination, and teamwork, while also emphasizing the importance of supporting those in need.
