Tragic Death of Infant Linked to Alleged Abuse in Lexington

Lexington, Ky. – A three-month-old baby, identified as Greyson Torres, has tragically died as a result of alleged abuse at his home. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office reported that the infant succumbed to multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.

Authorities arrested Amancio Torres-Trevino and Kaela Walker, who were charged with first-degree criminal abuse in connection with the infant’s death. Court records indicate that the abuses took place on September 29 at a residence located on the 2800 block of Alumni Drive.

According to the arrest citation, Torres-Trevino was allegedly alone with the child when the injuries occurred. Walker faces accusations of neglect, specifically of failing to report the suspected abuse to law enforcement or social workers.

Both individuals entered not guilty pleas during their initial court appearance and are scheduled to appear again on Monday, October 7th, for a preliminary hearing.

This heartbreaking incident raises significant concerns about child safety and underscores the importance of vigilance in reporting suspected abuse. The local community is now grappling with the devastating news and its implications.

As the investigation continues, further updates are anticipated regarding the judicial proceedings against Torres-Trevino and Walker, as well as ongoing assessments by child protective services.
