Nicholasville, Ky. — A local business is stepping up to assist those affected by the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in East Tennessee. Blue Line Motor Sports, owned by Colton Tudor, is currently collecting donations to support those in need.
Tudor reported that in the past 24 hours, his business has received hundreds of donations, which are set to be delivered to East Tennessee later this week. “A little bit goes a long way. So I thought maybe we can take a couple trailers full of stuff down there, and help some people out,” Tudor stated.
He, along with a group of employees and volunteer friends, plans to transport three to four vehicles packed with essential items, including diapers, bottled water, household supplies, and non-perishable food. They also aim to set up a central location in a large parking lot to distribute resources to those affected.
Tudor emphasized the importance of community involvement, saying, “We will probably have eight to ten people with us. They are going to travel around and take food to people and tell them about where we are set up.” The outreach effort seeks to ensure that help reaches those who are struggling.
Donations will be collected through Friday morning, with options for community members to contribute. They can drop off items or monetary donations at Blue Line Motor Sports, located at 5004 Park Central Ave, Nicholasville, KY. Tudor further explained, “If you don’t have time to get stuff on your own, we can either have someone come pick it up, you can send money, or bring cash here.”
As someone deeply impacted by the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene, Tudor expressed his motivation behind this effort: “I just felt the need to help. You see all the destruction and people helpless. It’s crazy to have everything taken away from you.”
