Weather Advisory for Lexington, Kentucky: Patchy Fog and Showers Ahead

Lextington, KY – As residents begin their week, they are advised to remain vigilant for dense fog in low-lying areas, particularly in the river valleys. This morning, the persistence of the remnants from Tropical Storm Helene is impacting local weather, causing isolated to widely scattered showers throughout the area.

The showers, similar to what was experienced over the weekend, are expected to be sporadic, occasionally leading to brief downpours during the day. Meteorologists recommend carrying rain gear while commuting. In addition, residents should be prepared for patchy dense fog again tonight, which may create low visibility conditions.

Looking ahead, tomorrow will see more scattered showers with a promising change on the horizon. A cold front is anticipated to move through the region Tuesday night into Wednesday. This front is expected to clear out the lingering effects of Helene, bringing improved weather conditions for the rest of the week.

As the front approaches, there may be a few showers, and possibly storms, however, moisture levels associated with the front are not expected to be significant. Temperatures towards the end of the week will see little variance, with Wednesday’s highs reaching between the upper 60s and low 70s. The night following will be the coldest of the week, dropping to the upper 40s and low 50s.

Thursday is projected to be the warmest day of the week, with temperatures rising into the mid to upper 80s, creating ideal conditions for outdoor activities. The forecast extends into the weekend, which is likely to remain primarily dry, although a slight chance of another cold front could bring some rain.

For today, the ABC 36 Storm Team has outlined the following forecast:

  • Monday: Mostly cloudy with intermittent showers, highs in the low to mid 70s.
  • Monday Night: Partly cloudy with patchy fog, lows in the low 60s.
  • Tuesday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers, highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated with the latest weather information and plan accordingly as this weather system unfolds. Stay safe and prepare for the varying conditions ahead.
