Lexington Council Member Announces Series of Free Summer Events for Families

In a concerted effort to foster community spirit and provide families with enjoyable summer entertainment, Lexington’s 6th district council member, Denise Gray, has announced a series of free events. Each event will commence at sunset, including various attractions such as food trucks, the Parks and Recreation’s “Park and Play” initiative, and live music.

July Event: Movie Night at Mary Todd Elementary

The festivities are set to begin on the night of Saturday, July 13 at Mary Todd Elementary with a screening of the family-friendly animated film, “Kung Fu Panda 4”. The school’s address is 551 Parkside Drive. All families within the Lexington community are invited to bring their picnic blankets and enjoy an evening under the stars with their loved ones.

August Events: Movie Night and Talent Show at Constitution Park

The merriment continues on Saturday, August 10, with another outdoor movie night at Constitution Park. This time, families can look forward to watching “The Marvels” at 1670 Old Paris Road.

On Saturday, August 24, at Constitution Park, Denise Gray is presenting the “6th District Presents: Who Has Talent?” event. This talent showcase will take place on the parking lot stage behind Northern Elementary, at 340 Rookwood Parkway.
