Lexington – City officials announced on Wednesday that the groundbreaking process for the $2.4 million Valley Park neighborhood center development on Lexington’s west side has commenced. Mayor Linda Gorton highlighted the importance of this center, as it serves as a crucial hub for community engagements, physical activities, youth functions, and various other neighborhood programs within the Cardinal Hill area.
“This center is integral to our community’s fabric. Hence, we’ve recognized the need for more space and enhanced facilities. Our project cordially covers a comprehensive refurbishment of the existing structure, which notably includes the introduction of versatile multipurpose space divisible into two separate rooms,” said Mayor Gorton.
Project Specifics
Besides additional multipurpose room, a significant part of the enhancement plan involves constructing two new restrooms equipped with locker and changing facilities. This feature will be especially useful for community members utilizing the center’s recreational or fitness amenities.
