Kentucky Realtor Amplifies Brand Through Social Media Amidst Potential US TikTok Ban
Lexington, KY – Local real estate entrepreneur, Whitney Pannell, is redefining the art of business promotion, leveraging the power of social media to amplify her brand amidst the potential US ban of popular platform TikTok. What began as a leisurely activity to weather the ennui of the COVID-19 pandemic has morphed into a strategic asset for her growing business.
She has accumulated an impressive network of over 100,000 followers and nearly 4 million likes on TikTok, significantly enhancing her business visibility and standing. “I want to be ahead of the curve. I want to be a trendsetter,” proclaims Pannell.
A Journey through Social Media Evolution
Pannell’s foray into social media began with Facebook back in 2007. The growth of her followers and the expansion of her Real Estate business led her to venture onto Instagram. TikTok quickly became the latest platform for Pannell, popularly known on the site as ‘Momma Pannell’, to diversify her brand reach and bolster her client base.
She notes, “People that follow me on TikTok will call me and want to list their house with me or want me to help them buy. I hardly have to interview anymore because people already know my personality through my social media.”
Riding the Storm of Potential Ban
Pannell, like many creators, has kept a keen eye on the unfolding situation surrounding TikTok in Washington D.C., where President Joe Biden has signed a bill banning the video-sharing app unless its Chinese parent company ByteDance sells it to a non-Chinese buyer within a year.
“If TikTok went away, I would be fine. I would use other platforms,” she reinforces. But the fact that ByteDance has prompted a lawsuit against the federal government hints at potential rough waters ahead.
Yet, despite the looming threat, Pannell remains composed. “I don’t put all of my eggs in the TikTok basket. Or the Instagram basket. You have to really diversify on all your platforms. That’s why it is really a time-consuming job.”
Social Media – A Family Affair
Interestingly, Pannell’s son, Parker, has also carved out a successful career through social media. Now an actor, YouTuber, and content creator based in Los Angeles, he boasts millions of followers across platforms.
Whitney Pannell’s tale spotlights the immense potential of social media as a brand-building tool. While the thought of losing access to TikTok is daunting for many, this Kentucky realtor seems prepared to adapt and evolve as she has done throughout her journey in the rapidly changing digital landscape.
