KHSAA Sweet 16 Girls Basketball: Full Schedule Announced for Rupp Arena Tournament
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) have released the complete schedule for the 2024 Mingua Beef Jerky/KHSAA Girls Sweet 16 Basketball Tournament, slated to kick off on Wednesday at Rupp Arena in Lexington. With the final spot filled by Owensboro after defeating Owensboro Catholic in the Third Region final, the field is set.

The playing field is dominated by 10 of the top-15 teams in the final Kentucky High School Basketball Media Poll, featuring: Sacred Heart, Cooper, George Rogers Clark, Pikeville, Anderson County, McCracken County, Franklin County, North Laurel, Russell, and Butler. Notably, No.1 rank Sacred Heart looks poised to create history, seeking to become the first team—whether boys or girls—to bag four consecutive state championships.
Breaking Down the Schedule
Wednesday’s agenda starts with Owsley County going head-to-head with Bowling Green at 11 a.m., followed by Russell and McCracken County clashing at 1:30 p.m. Later on, Anderson County squares off against Butler at 6 p.m., leaving North Laurel to contend with Franklin County at 8:30 p.m.
The action continues on Thursday with Pikeville versus Bethlehem at 11 a.m., and Henderson County against Owensboro at 1:30 p.m. The evening will see Sacred Heart taking on George Rogers Clark at 6 p.m., followed by a match between Danville Christian and Cooper at 8:30 p.m.
Progressive Rounds
Friday’s schedule includes winners from the previous days going against each other, starting with the triumphant teams from the Owsley County-Bowling Green and Russell-McCracken County games at 11 a.m. Later, the winners from Anderson County-Butler and North Laurel-Franklin County bouts will compete against each other at 1:30 p.m. The Sacred Heart-George Rogers Clark victor will challenge the Pikeville-Bethlehem winner at 6 p.m., before the triumphant team from the Danville Christian-Cooper match battles it out with the Henderson County-Owensboro victor at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday will witness the pivotal semi-final games at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., culminating in the grand final at 7:30 p.m.
